I did not attend the 24 hour celebration held at Disneyland yesterday. Instead, I drooled over my phone while following updates from Twitter, blogs, Facebook and Instragram. I'm not big on the crowds that flock (now, more than ever) to Disneyland. I have had the taste of the quaint morning walk when you can stroll from land to land with only seeing a handful a people. Now that feeling is far and few. No matter, I still love my second home.
On Wednesday I got my Disney dose by visiting DCA and Disneyland for a pair of hours in the late afternoon. I strolled in a planned outfit of red, white and blue under the Memorial Day decor on Buena Vista Street. As we walked by the "Storytellers" statue my aunt Cathy asked what time was it supposed to represent, and I chime in "1923". And I realize and stated , I'm a such a nerd! She responds, "No dear, I prefer to call you a Geek".
Here's to the Geeks- 8 stages of Becoming a Disney Super Fan.
It's Kind of a Cute Story
Roland “Rolly” Crump is a living Disney legend whose life has span a career in and out of Disney for more than 40 years. Trying to get a bit more information on Haunted Mansion (and yes, the description and history is coming) I decided to give it a whirl. It really is a cute story and has so many stories about his interaction with Walt. If you get a chance, please read it. For any Disney fan, this is a great book to delve into. The funny stories he has about the “Old Man” aka Walt are just a treasure, ah, to be a fly on the wall back then.

Dapper Day a la Disneybound Spring 2013
Today, was Disneyland's "unofficial" Dapper Day Spring Fling. I, of course, love history encompasses vintage fashion, and when you add Disneyland to the mix, you have a must attend event. Myself, the hubby and sister did attend Fall's Dapper Day but didn't really get to mingle or take pictures. So this time I went with a plan and our plan went just one step further than vintage clothing it added a Disneybound mix.
There is this "movement" called "Disneybounding" and what it means is that you as individual inspired by Disney character give your fashion a Disney flair. It could be in the colors, it could be in the accessories, it's your spin. So my sister and I decided that we would not only go dapper, but Disneybound. This took a lot of time at the thrift shops, but really it's been so much fun! Just a quick side note, Thrift stores are AWESOME. In the end, based on items we were able to acquire and how recognizable- we chose Cruella De Vil and Perdita (the female Dalmatian)- no jokes please.
The day began with picking up our Dapper Day commemorative pins at the Grand California Hotel in Downtown Disney. We then moved along to DCA and enjoyed Minnie's Fly Girls along with other Dapper Dan's.

We then frolicked over to Animation to play in the Beast's Library and see what characters we are most like.
Cruella was most like Ursula... we were hoping for herself.. but it didn't happen. Ursula hmmm.... I wonder if it was because of the hair... anyways. As for me,
I got Mrs. Incredible. I'lll take it!!!
On the way out, she found a puppy, but it wouldn't go with her. As we walked along Buena Vista we ran into one of the fabulous citizen's of Buena Vista, Donna the Dog Lady, and her fabulous pup.
We also were able to get in one of the great shows of Buena Vista Street and admire other Dapper Dans out and about.
Even Tower of Tower was a Dapper Event.
The culmination of the day came with the DisneyBound meet up. IT WAS WONDERFUL. To see the creativity of others when it come to not only vintage but DISNEY is impressive. Thanks so much to those who were so kind and welcoming and allowing for the picture. Thanks to @Disney_g33k for hosting. It was great!!!
We did get a group picture which hasn't been posted yet, which involves well over 100 people in front of the castle!! I will update as soon as I get my grubby little paws on them. Happy Disneybound Dapper day!
