Memorable Mondays
Taken sometime in early 2010. This picture is from my absolute favorite place in the park... Snow White's Wishing Well. This was taken for my engagement pictures, where I got engaged. :) Happy Monday all.
Memorable Mondays
Today I introduce a new part of the blog, called Memorable Mondays. It will be of picture that you all donate to the blog about memories you have a Disneyland. Yes, I do discriminate and ask that be from DisneyLAND, Ca, eh, California Adventure will also be accepted. I’m not trying to be mean, but once I open the door for other Walt Disney parks it can get too overwhelming. I also ask you send a quick 2-3 sentence blurp on the picture. Until I begin getting other pictures, you will have to endure mine, I FORWORN YOU!!! START SENDING YOURS NOW!
Okay, here we go.
This is my favorite picture from Disneyland. It was taken on the premiere day of Pirates of the Caribbean. It was held right on the Rivers of America so they opened at 6am to close at 5pm….and very few people knew about. Just a walk in Walt’s Footsteps.

Dapper Day Recap ...real quick
Dapper Day, Feb. 5th, 2012
Dear Diary,
Where do I begin? First of all, it wasn't such a quiet day as I hoped. I thought this country loved football, apparently not as many as I had hoped for stayed home in front of their TV screens. For someone who loves Disneyland, I do NOT like the crowds. It's not the amount of people, it's the rudeness (is that a word?) of them.
I attended Dapper Day with my Aunt Cathy but because we only went to DCA it was a little different than being on the other side where all the festivities were taking place. I did see several other Dapper ladies and gentlemen, but my rather shy (yes I SAID SHY) self couldn't get up the nerve to introduce myself and ask to take a picture with them. Moreover, now looking at my picture, I'm not that dapper as I had hoped.
What did I learn...
1) Must plan in advance for dapper day- I mean ALL out. I know you can't see, but I'm wearing sandals (For shame)! I have plans forming in the head, oh yes, the hamster has positioned himself back on that wheel and has begun to spun.
2) Attend Disneyland side ( don't question me! I don't have a pass and had the 99 dollar one park a day ticket, DCA was less crowded) during the festivities.
3) Introduce myself! How in the world do I expect for the Disneyland blogosphere to adore me (can you hear the air being wooshed into my ego..hehe) when I can't even say "Hello My name is...". GAH!
Anyways, big thanks to Auntie C. for showing me a lovely time for my birthday. I always do :) And helping me scope out Dapper people and discussing what era should be represented during dapper days.

The inspiration and perspiration of Disneyland
It all started with a mouse….
Yes, it did. But the idea-concept- of Disneyland was brought on by something else. The story is pretty infamous, in fact, here’s Walt in his own words.
Did you catch that? “Amusement Enterprise”… he was always dreaming big, although Disneyland was a big accomplishment , there was more to come, and he knew it. I like to think this story as the catalyst to the creation of Disneyland; however, he had already been looking into creating a type of amusement park in connection to the mouse closer to the Burbank studios. Fans had been requesting it for years.

EEK! Dapper Days at Disneyland
Oh the era of the first decade of Disneyland... the strict dress codes gives us something to drool over in photos... but now you can be part of the "look"! Dapper Days are coming!
I myself will be blocked out, hey... the economy hurts. But I may just go to the Grand Californian Hotel's bar in my best "mad men" attire.
Here's the Itinerary for the day:
DAPPER DAY – Enjoy the Park in High Style!
DISNEYLAND, CALIFORNIA Sunday February 5th, 2012 Dapper Day Gatherings:
3pm THE MARK TWAIN MIXER – Meet at the boat landing in Frontierland before 3pm and we’ll all board the first departure at 3pm or after for an elegant trip around The Rivers of America on this original attraction from 1955.
3:30-5pm ISLAND ESCAPADES – Explore pirate caves, treehouses and other prime photo-op locations on Tom Sawyer Island. (Board the rafts near the Haunted Mansion. Island closes at dusk.)
7pm THE DAPPER DERBY - Meet at King Arthur’s Carousel for a group ride! (Start gathering nearby around 6:45 and we’ll get in line together at 7. The carousel holds 68 guests so it will take several cycles to get us all through.)
10:30pm AFTER DAPPER DRINKS in the Disneyland Hotel courtyard at Trader Sam’s Enchanted Tiki Bar (Take the monorail from Tomorrowland or walk to the hotel. Trader Sam’s is near the pool area and features Asian appetizers and custom cocktails.)
Disneyland will close at 11pm, DCA at 9pm. DL Fireworks at 8:40 (Disney park hours and schedules may change.) SoCal Select Annual Passes are blocked out on Sundays but a 1-day blockout ticket is $59, or upgrade to the next level passport for $70.
